Lead Learn Live enters agreement with Northeastern State University
Published: Tuesday, April 3, 2018
Announcement from Lead Learn Live:
LeadLearnLive
is excited to announce that we have entered into an agreement with Northeastern State University to begin the first four-year, fully integrated, comprehensive
post-secondary program in Oklahoma for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities,
to begin Fall of 2018 !
LeadLearnLive
has been at work since 2012 educating, gathering support and raising funding to begin a best practice program in our state. We are excited to have
NSU
as the first home for this groundbreaking program, and are so happy for the students who will be able to realize their dream of college in our state at last!
NSU
is an ideal location for the program and has worked very hard to make this vision become a reality! Oklahoma is one of two states left in the nation that does not have a post-secondary program of this kind for this population. The program will be located at the Tahlequah campus and be based on REACH, a program of College of Charleston in South Carolina. Students completing programs of this caliber show impressive improvements in independent living and meaningful employment. There will be four areas of support provided for the students including independent living, social skills, academics and career development.
Applications will be accepted soon. More information to follow!
