Virtual On the Road Family Perspective Conference set for May 14, 2020
Sooner SUCCESS, a program of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in partnership with Oklahoma Aging Services are planning to host a Virtual On the Road Family Perspective Conference, entitled Supporting Family Caregivers Across the Lifespan: children with special health care needs, adults with disabilities and older adults. The virtual event will be held via Zoom Webinar on May 14, 2020. This On the Road will focus on sharing information across the lifespan, so caregivers who have a child with special health care needs, or caregivers caring for an adult with a disability or an older adult. Valuable information from professionals who work with caregivers.
This webinar is a two-session event with the first session for children birth to 16 years old from 10am to noon and the second session for all ages and older adults from 2pm to 4pm. Caregivers can attend the webinar sessions to learn about what statewide resources, organizations, and supports they might be able to access for their loved one who has a disability or special health care needs. Caregivers may attend one or both sessions.
Conference attendees will be able to receive contact information and helpful statewide resources. With this information it makes it a little easier for the family caregivers to navigate the system to find the supports or resources that meet their family’s needs.
There is no cost to attend the webinar but registration is required. Limited registration spots are available.
