Purpose of Waiting List Meetings - To offer HOPE to those WAITING!  Bring awareness of the DDS Waiting List. Help policymakers and legislators learn and hear from families of those who are WAITING.

You’re invite to a meeting for families who have a loved one on the DDS Waiting List. DDS (Developmental Disabilities Service) is under DHS and offers assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities to be able to live in the community and stay with their family. DDS waivers offers job training, skill building and health and medical care. This Waiting List has more than 5,500 waiting with a wait time of over 12.

For those attending the meeting, you will receive a breakdown of the DDS Waiting List. You will see what services are being utilized during the waiting, the length of time waiting and the number of individuals in each county, waiting!

At this meeting we will also hear about what changes are coming for adults on SoonerCare, which could help meet some needs of those on the Waiting list.

Remember this is an election year. Every candidate running for state or federal position should be invited. Help educate them before they are put on the ballot in November. We will post a list of candidates running in the primary and those who are running unopposed, too.
