Letter from RCC President about New Community Wish List

Link to organizations' Wish Lists

Rogers County Coalition is working on compiling a needs/wish list that we can put on our website. This list will include daily needs, big wants and volunteer opportunities.

This year I am participating in Leadership Rogers County and every year the class has a project that benefits various agencies/organizations in the Claremore area. Many in our class have talked about the various needs shared with our group - things like toilet paper rolls for crafts, paper goods, personal hygiene products, snacks and stuffed animals for kids, - simple on-going things that would make a great impact on costs in the long run.

In the officers meeting of the Rogers County Coalition, it was discussed as having a tab on our website that would list needs that our community might be able to help meet. This will be a place where the general community, churches, philanthropic groups etc. could go to support local groups through direct contact with the agency.  For example: If Safenet needs toiletries for ladies or the Youth Shelter needs socks for kids, the community could go to our website, choose a need to meet and then call that agency to make delivery arrangements. Only information provided by the agency/organization would be listed.

Often times people really want to help but don't know how because they don't know what is needed.  The purpose is to give the public a way to help that would actually be right on target with the needs of the organization. Think of it like a registry for giving!

If your organization is interested in having information listed on this site, please email: tonda-ames@ouhsc.edu. She will then send you a form to complete.
