Rogers County Coalition Seeking Donations for Valentine's Day Card Project

Published: Monday, January 22, 2018

Deadline to receive donations: Feb. 8

Contact: Tonda Ames, 918-712-0340

Like the holiday season, there are families and children who can't afford to purchase needed and wished-for items. Valentine's Day is no exception. There are children who can't afford to purchase the cards for their friends and classmates.

Last year, the Rogers County Coalition stepped-up to fill this gap and asked the community for help to purchase Valentine's Day cards that were then delivered to schools in Rogers county for teachers to provide to students whom they knew needed a little assistance.

"It was a great little project that turned our bigger than we anticipated. We had businesses and individuals donating boxes of cards that were delivered to the schools. We are sponsoring this project again, and would like to ask the community for their help once again," said Tonda Ames, secretary of Rogers County Coalition.

Monetary donations and boxes of cards may be dropped off at The Cornerstone, 609 S. Brady, Suite 121, Claremore. The location is the new mixed-use property owned and operated by SWABO Properties which is located across from the Claremore Recreation Center. Donations can be placed in the plastic container inside the suite.

The Coalition would like to have all cards and donations by February 8 so that they can be delivered to the schools on time for Valentine's Day parties.
