Sensory/Special Needs Santa Day in Claremore

Published: Monday, November 5, 2018

Mark your calendar to register for the Dec. 2 "Sensory/Special Needs Santa Day". The free event will take place from 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., at the Claremore First North Campus Student Building located at 405 W 4th Street, Claremore. Sponsors for the event include Sooner Success Rogers/Tulsa Counties, Rogers County OSU Extension Service and First Baptist Church Claremore.

Times will be scheduled for a visit with Santa and will be tailored to the child's needs. Families with children with special needs will have a designated time to privately visit with Santa. It will be a low-key, controlled environment. Photographer Melodie Rhae Pennington will be on hand as well to capture that special moment free of charge. In addition, goodie bags prepared by the First Baptist Church, will be handed out to the children.

"This event always fills up fast. The registration deadline is Noon, Nov. 26 and reservations are required," said Tonda Ames, Sooner Success Rogers and Tulsa Counties coordinator. "The Santa that has helped us the past few years is simply outstanding. He understands children with special needs, and not to mention that he looks exactly what we picture Santa looking like. Overall, it's a fun time and parents have been thrilled to see their children visit Santa in such a unique setting."

To schedule a time, please email: tonda-ames@ouhsc.edu or call 918-712-0340 by Noon, Nov. 26. If you email, we will need the following information:
